When it comes to food and lodging, we like to immerse ourselves in the local experience.
Our accommodations match each unique place we visit. We meticulously select hotels, inns, guest houses, bungalows and retreat centers for their overall quality and their ability to enhance our travelers' experience. We do our best to stay in small, family-owned facilities that reflect the culture and persona of the city we are in.
In our opinion, eating remains one of the ultimate reasons for traveling; and some of the best meals are often the simplest ones — a bowl of Pad Thai noodles, Tom Yum soup, or roti (banana crepes drizzled with condensed milk and chocolate). We’ll guide you to the busy local eateries — aromatic with the scent of cilantro, lemon grass, chilies and ginger or cumin, coriander, fennel, and turmeric — and expose your palate to new delights.
Start the day relaxing in the hotel dinning room over a steaming cup of tea and a complimentary breakfast of western foods like toast, eggs and creamy oatmeal. Or choose local dishes such as fresh yogurt and lightly fried, golden dosas with coconut chutney. For those that just can’t get enough of the local cuisine, we recommend you skip the eggs and explore the nearby streets to experience fresh donuts with sweetened soy milk, heavenly Tibetan momos, or a banana leaf bowl of curded rice.
