Bangkok Extravaganza: Itinerary

This is an optional 5-day extension to the Eat, Pray, Love Bali tour.

The spirit of the Thai people resonates in the busy streets of this cosmopolitan city. We will discover "a small village, napping in the narrow lanes" that weave through the sprawling city once known as ancient Siam. Touring the city via river taxi, tuk tuk and sky train, we will shop, eat and discover more of Bangkok than you can possibly imagine!

Day 1
Floating MarketWe begin our journey in the steamy modern capital of Bangkok where your guide will help you navigate the canyons of skyscrapers and introduce you to the small village that lies napping in the narrow lanes of old Siam. Start your day with a traditional Thai massage or ride a water taxi through the canals (klongs) before we take in the wonders of Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. We stay along the Chayo Praya river in the Khao San area to give us a little taste of all things Thai and more!

Day 2
Float down the klongs of the Floating Market, traditionally Bangkok’s main source of commerce, a truly delightful experience.

Day 3
Tour Jim Thompson’s (the American who put Thai silk on the fashion industry’s map) famous residence. Stroll the cosmopolitan side of Bangkok including hip boutiques, fashionable restaurants and state of the art shopping malls.

Day 4
This is a free day for you to indulge in spa treatments or journey to Chatuchak market. Once only popular among wholesalers and traders, Chatuchak Weekend Market has reached a landmark status as a must-visit place for tourists. Its sheer size and diverse collections of merchandise will bring any seasoned shoppers to their knees.

Day 5
Continue your trip by traveling to Bali and joining the Eat, Pray, Love in Bali tour.

About Your Guide

BethSawatee ka. Dee chan Beth ka. Come play with me in my second home. I speak enough Thai to make the locals giggle and fill my belly with 5 star meals—phat thai, khow phat gra pow, tom yam kung, som tom, aroi mak mak. I promise you meals that will leave a party in your mouth!

This is a country that will cater to your every whim from the bizarre (street stalls selling friend insects as a snack) to lounge chairs on the purest white sand you have ever sunk your toes into. You can step back centuries or immerse yourself in the finest shopping malls of Asia.

I invite you to my home away from home and I promise to share the best of the best with you! Phob kan mai…see you later!
