Bali and Indonesia — our favorite destination! White sand beaches, coral reefs, spas galore…and so much more! Opportunities to trek a volcano, witness sunrise at the Kingdom of Karangasem, watch wisps of clouds dance on the roof of the rainforest.
We find the culture is written on the landscape from its emerald green rice terraces carved by the ancestors, to the sculptures and arches that adorn every home. The gentle hearts of the Balinese make immersion into this rich culture delightfully easy.
Our 10-day tours wraps each day into a postcard perfect layout. Reach into the past with visits to Balinese healers, explore the rural lifestyle in the misty mountains, swim in crystal clear waters, and participate in the splendid and graceful palm leaf offerings that line the streets in the mornings. The fragrant aroma of island food will tempt you from every corner, leaving your taste buds dancing as you watch the carefully choreographed dances of Kecak Rina or Legong.
The spectacular beaches allow us to unwind, relax and be present. Diving or snorkeling in world renowned reefs, lazing by the pool, indulging in spa treatments (try the mandi susu, a massage followed by a herbal scrub and a milk–yogurt body mask), or setting off on excursions as you become one with Balinese living.
In Bali, we indulge in Elizabeth Gilbert’s beloved Ubud for the second part of our stay. Tour sacred temples, participate in a full moon offering, play hide and seek with the monkeys in Monkey Forest, hike among the terraced rice paddies, and enjoy warung (food stall) smorgasbords (you know how much I love eating locally!), temple dances, gamelan concerts.
